More Blue Line series

Late morning commute

The two figures in the background seem to be standing in almost the same places, just further apart on the platform. I love the young gentleman wistfully waiting on the platform storage box. A train delay had been announced...

The two figures intrigue me and I wonder if people often spy incoming trains in the same fashion and same distance from the edge of the platform. Perhaps its a habit we learn from one another...

I miss Chicago, even though was was just recently there. I didn't get to spend any time in the city. Another great picture. Something about Black and White makes things look so crisp and clean. I don't know what it is.

I love black and white for these urban shots. It puts all the shapes in the photo almost on a equal playing field, and I need to use the light and depth to really draw the emotion I am looking for.

This photo is interesting in color, but it's hard to identify the anticipation these commuters are feeling. By turning off the color, I feel I turned off the world, and pulled myself into the subjects I chose for the photo....

omg...why couldn't I just say, "I like black and white photos too?" Pffft...I blame it all on being born in the year of the Tiger :P

Thanks Michael!!!

I <3 the blue line, it's less packed then the brown and red, but unfortunately the blue line never goes where I need to go. :(

It's the only line by our hood. I miss taking the brown line. I would load up my walkman, jump on at Francisco, and ride it around the whole loop and back just for fun :P

hahaha awesome... I live only like a block away from jones so I only ever take the red and brown lines (and they're usually just to get to marwen.)

Oh you are so lucky! I bet Kai would love to live so close to school now that he has an hour commute each way

lol yeah, I rode the redline with him yesterday, and he was like "where are you getting off?" I told him chicago... then he made a sad face and was like "I have to get off at jackson to get to the blue line." I felt bad, I felt like saying that I'd ride the blue line with him for company but I was already a little late for my class at marwen. :( *sad face*

Awwww..you are too sweet! I know how you feel though. I had free time last week, and I wanted to drive him to school and class just so he didn't have to take that long lonely ride. But hey, he's a big boy right? He's got a sketchbook, and a book to read. It's all good right?

Ugh, I am not so crazy about riding the trains, I attend classes downtown and I have to take the trains and somebody are always either talking too loud on their cell phones, singing(for tips) or preaching. It just gets tiresome after a while but the trains are my easiest commute so I have no choice. This pic however makes it look so peaceful. :D Maybe it is because I very seldom ride the blue line.
