To be a huge supporter of this brand, and to be dealt such a disappointment is hard to recover from. I want to think positive, and I want to support the success of this film to further the reach of the story. Unfortunately, I simply can't find it in my heart to do so yet. The reason I loved the story was it's honesty and its ability to take chances. From their faces, these actors do not honestly represent the heroes.


Am I disappointed that they are not Asian, or at least Asian looking, you bet. Do I have faith in their ability to make this movie as successful as the show, no. I have seen one of the films that one of the actors was in, and I wasn't impressed. But the biggest shocker was Zuko's actor.


After seeing M. Night's last film, and being very critical of his actor choices, I wonder just how much of this decision was his? Are there NO talented Asian actors willing to play these characters in the world? Will Mark Wahlberg play Ozai? Honestly, I have seen cosplayers that more accurately resembled these characters. My biggest question right now is...what do Mike and Bryan think?


This is just the beginning, so I am going to rant now, and hopefully eat my words later. I hope to eat my words and then some. I am hoping these films blow my mind, and I will forget that the actors all look like they belong in High School Musical, and not Avatar. I am also hoping that this is NOT correct at all, and someone will later tell me it was all a hoax.

Sokka: Has a characteristic face, so maybe goofy Sokka like expressions come easy for him

Katara: Has long hair

Zuko: His right eye is indeed naturally smaller than his left. Perhaps that will make his scar look more believable
