Yup, I'm spamming the fanwaves, and linking you lovies with as much SDCC ATLA/TLOK awesome I can get my hands on :) If you have an event, or know of a meet up or after party, let me know! :)

So far, here are a few things to consider if you are attending SDCC this Summer (about 2 weeks away!)

We just keep packing MORE ATLA/TLOK into SDCC :) The first ATLA related panel I am aware of this year is on Thursday at 10am. I do not know all the details yet, but I thought I would give you lovelies a heads up.

Creating Spaces for Diverse Characters and Representations: Presented by Racebending.com
Thursday, July 12th, 2012
10:00a.m. - 11:00a.m., Room: 23ABC
Creators and artists are developing engrossing characters from underrepresented groups.  Our  panelists from different mediums will discuss their creative processes and how can fans support their diversity efforts!  Featuring novelist and comic book writer Marjorie Liu (Astonishing X-Men), video game writer David Gaider (Dragon Age), comic book writer Brandon Thomas (Miranda Mercury), showrunner and screenwriter Javier Grillo-Marxuach (The Middleman), and writer Sarah Kuhn (One Con Glory), moderated by Racebending.com!

You can visit the good people of Racebending for more information as it becomes available :)

Of course, everyone attending SDCC probably knows that Friday morning will be the BIG Korra line up in Ballroom 20D :)

Cosplay planning is still in effect. You can check out Sockai-Chan's thread on Cosplay.com. When things are closer to being settled, it will be posted here as well :)

If you didn't stay up too late with Korra panel jitters, head over to room 28E for this Summer's Avatar Legacy Fan Panel. Here is the description:

July 14th

11:00 - 12:00 Avatar the Last Airbender - Beginning and Beyond - Room 28E - For over 5 years, the organizers of this fan panel have been bringing together both fans and professionals. Moderated by Avatar_Mom, this year's panel will include Bobby Rubio (Avatar the Last Airbender, Pixar, Alcatraz High), Freelance Concept Artist DJ Welch (Dark Kenjie), Kevin Coppa (Puppet Benders), and Actor/Voice Actor Dante Basco (Avatar the Last Airbender), and perhaps a few more surprise guests. If that isn't enough, there will be a cosplay contest to showcase the fandom's talented "fabric benders."

Then finally, aTallearthbender shared this awesome information. Here's a snippet of his post for everyone:

…In addition to all the exciting events surrounding Legend of Korra and Avatar The Last Airbender, please come out and support TEAM AVATAR, which consist of some of the biggest fans of the Avatar series. We are excited to be a part of such an amazing event and we hope that all of you wonderful, dedicated fans will join us at this year's Comic Con Masquerade!!!!!

Information:
8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14 in Ballroom 20 of the Convention Center. The event will run three hours, and doors will open at 7:45 p.m. for audience seating. As the line will start forming long before then, early arrival is suggested. Tickets for seating will be given out FREE to people in the line beginning at 2:00 PM. A ticket guarantees a seat, so you need not stay in line after you receive yours. After tickets have been distributed to the people in line, any that may remain from the 3,900 available will be given out at the Masquerade Desk. Should you be unable to obtain tickets there will also be overflow seating in the Sails Pavilion and in other ballrooms where the show will be projected on giant screens. Reserved seating is available for convention special guests.

Whew

I saw some videos that I believe Sifu Kisu uploaded via Tumblr -- it looked like the fan panel went very well. I thought it was VERY sweet that kids got to be up in front of everyone doing some stuff. That was just fantastic, I bet that really made their day. =) I also think it's just wonderful that parts of the Avatar production staff, actors and otherwise, would find some time to do that kind of thing.
